Josh Weddington
Occupational therapy is therapy based on performing the meaningful activities of daily life (self-care skills, education, work, or social interaction), especially to enable or enhance participation in such activities despite impairments or limitations in physical or neurological functioning. Occupational therapy is for individuals of all ages-to improve skills that help them perform daily tasks at home and at school, at work and at play.

Occupational therapy practitioners are skilled professionals. Their education includes the study of human growth and development, with specific emphasis on the social, emotional and physical effects of illness and injury. They help individuals with injuries; illnesses, certain conditions or disabilities get on with their "occupations" of living.

Our Occupational therapists are trained in helping individuals with a broad range of physical and neurological conditions and specialize in:
                                               
- Orthopedic rehabilitation

- Neurological rehabilitation and testing
- Comprehensive Hand Therapy\Splinting
- Sport and Industrial related injury
- Fall Prevention with vision assessment

Our Occupational Therapy Department is headed up by Josh Weddington MOT, OTR/L and Darrick Blankenship B.S., MOTR/L.  Both Josh and Darrick graduated with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from West Virginia University. 

Josh’s primary focus is general orthopedic/neurological treatment of hand related injuries/conditions.  He provides occupational therapy services to our Main Clinic in Maryville.  Josh is also pursuing his Certified Hand Specialist (CHT) certification.

Darrick also has a primary focus of orthopedic/neurological treatment of hand related injuries/conditions.  He also works with neurological disorders, in addition to, functional balance issues/fall prevention.  He provides occupational therapy services to both the Main Clinic as well as our Lenoir City facility.
